about
What is CAIN?
CAIN is a roleplaying game (RPG) desgined by Tom Bloom and released in 2024.
One of my friends described it as "JJK with biblical and eldritch imagery" and he's not wrong! For its themes, CAIN takes inspiration from media such as Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. You play excorcists with psychic powers under the mysterious organization CAIN, which seeks to destroy supernatural monsters called SINS.
As an RPG, CAIN prioritizes roleplay over dice rolls, using them at a minimum and mainly for conflict resolution. It stood out to me for its versatile character creation, which allows you to select abilities from different classes called Blasphemies as you level up.
What is this page?
When my friends and I read the rulebook, I was instantly hooked by CAIN! I couldn't wait to play, so I took a template by the talented Loren, webmaster of ribo.zone, and made this page for my CAIN characters. You're welcome to take inspiration from them and I hope you can share your CAIN characters with me too!
The resources that I've used will be listed in the Credits section so you can access them easily.

I'm the director. I'm in a helicopter.
I have a megaphone and you play along,
because you want to die for love,
you always have.

Opening Statement
CLASSIFIED, alias Ms. Bonifacio, is an excorcist employed by CAIN with a Shadow agenda and Palace blasphemy. She was born as the daughter to a famous actress and screenwriter, although she was raised primarily by her grandfather, a traditional tattoo artist, in the countryside. Ms. Bonifacio was recruited at eighteen-years-old, making her a late bloomer in this field; however, this did not impede upon her training, and she graduated alongside her cohort with minor complications. Due to the supportive nature of her abilities, she is better suited for the rear, helping from afar.
TRAINING ACCIDENT: Ms. Bonifiacio's former teammate unleashed a pyshcic blast that resulted in the complete destruction of her skull. Fortunately, her brain remained intact and she was able to be resresuscitated. At her request, she was given a television set for a prosthetic, capable of broadcasting several channels for her entertainment; the surgergies she undertook can be found in her medical file, upon request. It is best practice to never assign her to teams with the following blasphemies [...]

- Appearance
- Ms. Bonifacio is a young, brown skinned woman that stands at 193 cm tall and weighs 201 lbs, with symmetrical tattoos on her arms, back, and legs. Before her recruitment, she had black hair, black eyes, with full lips and an acquiline nose; these have been replaced with a 1950s cathode ray tube television. She prefers to dress in adherance to the CAIN uniform code for excorcists, with the standard sash, shoes, and cape over her dress.
- Personality
- According to reports, Ms. Bonifacio is prideful, shameless, and selfish. She tends to spotlight herself over her teammates, even when she does not contribute much to missions. Any mention of her mistakes renders her embarrassed; her TV screen switches to noise in such scenarios. She is susceptible to praise, however false it is.
