WHAT IS SAMPAGUITA ISLE?
Sampaguita Isle is my attempt at a grimdark fantasy setting for DND5e, 2014 edition. However, I feel hesitant to consider this setting original. The majority of its homebrew and imagery have been frankensteined together from media like Bloodborne, Lord of Mysteries, 10,000 Swords Against Heaven, and Fear and Hunger: Termina. I encourage you to check them and other inspirations out in the Resources section!To lay the broad strokes down, Sampaguita Isle is a post-apocalyptic, steampunk world touched by the supernatural. The immortal monarchs have partitioned the archipelago into colonies and reigned over them with an iron fist, depleting its resources without remorse. For the native inhabitants of the Isle, there is no death; only eternal enslavement. Thus, resistance becomes a battle against life itself.
This setting is also aggressively Filipino in design! When you think of this setting, think of the Philippines, circa 1800s. Think of tightknit, collectivist communities; a thousand spirits over one god; and the fires of rebellion stoked against colonial rule. If you find this setting interesting, feel free to explore!
