rpg stands for roleplaying game, and ttrpgs can be considered as a subcategory of this, since it stands for table-top roleplaying game. they are collaborative, storytelling games, typically played in person over a table, and often use dice to determine certain outcomes. however, in the digital age, ttrpgs can also be played on online platforms such as discord, roll20, tableplop, and foundry vtt!
trying ttrpgs!!
my ttrpg group has mostly stuck to dnd 5e since we started playing in 2021. it's the first ttrpg system we learned, albeit over text, rather than VC or IRL. maybe we lost some of the magic by doing that; i don't know. regardless, i will always love dnd 5e, but i'm hoping to try out other ttrpgs because one: i familiarize myself with different styles of ttrpgs and what would work best for my group and i; and two: the more games i play, the more i improve as a player and gm!
especially as a gm.
until i convince my group to try out these other ttrpgs, i will likely stick to ttrpgs that facilitate solo play. starting with,
